Public health advisory

(BECQ) — The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality would like to inform the general public that due to heavy rains and flooding, the Fiesta Drainage #1 has reached its holding capacity and poses an imminent threat to public health and welfare.

The Department of Public Works-Roads and Grounds Division intends to conduct emergency maintenance activities to properly discharge the clogged storm drain. This activity will allow the collected storm water to enter the lagoon in a controlled manner.

Therefore, pursuant to NMIAC § 65-130-1001 and to protect the public health, safety, and welfare, BECQ has given the following locations red flag and suspends public use (fishing, swimming, etc.) within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified:
