Yamagishi said they faced some obstacles, “but we are glad to be able to continue our tradition of competing in the Micro Games.”

He thanked the Northern Marianas Sports Association led by Mike White and former club president Felix Sasamoto for their support.

“We are truly thankful to the [association] board members and Gov. Ralph DLG Torres for going out of their way to make this happen,” club president Morito Asai said.

Alepuyo, the club vice president, said it is an honor and a privilege to represent the CNMI in the Micro Games.

“I’m excited about this opportunity to go to Yap and compete,” he said, as he also thanked the CNMI government and the Northern Marianas Sports Association for their support.

Camacho, the club treasurer, said the upcoming competition in Yap is very important to their team.

“This will be a great opportunity to showcase our talent and, at the same time,  get our team ready for our next Micro Games,” he said, adding the next competition will be held on Saipan.

For his part, Seman, in charge of the club facility, said he is excited about competing in Yap.

“It definitely feels great to be going to Yap with the team,” he added.

“This is something that my dad used to do. It’s one of those things you know. I’m glad I get to be a part of what my dad left behind,” he said.
