Filipino group’s health screening serves over 100 individuals

OVER 100 individuals availed themselves of the United Filipino Organization’s free health screening on Sunday, UFO president Marlon Regaton said.

The health screening was one of the highlights of the Pistang Pinoy or Filipino Fiesta event at the Marianas Business Plaza on June 9.

Commonwealth Health Center nurse and UFO coordinator Ernie Molina, who headed the health screening program, said the volunteers included Hardt Eye Clinic personnel and beauticians from the Trends & Beauty Salon.

Molina said 125 individuals underwent blood pressure and blood sugar measurement while 22 had a vision check-up.

The beauticians, for their part,  provided free haircuts to 54 individuals, including children.

Among the volunteers were Eric Mahinay and Honey Jane Abuen of Hardt Eye Clinic, and beauticians Joan Oliverio, Shine Geles, Rosemarie Marzan, Patrick Kapawan, Alex Raig and Arnel Coma.

 UFO president Marlon Regaton thanked the event’s volunteers, sponsors and donors for their invaluable community service.
