IT&E joins Liberation Day title sponsors

(Press Release) —  IT&E has joined the list of growing Title Sponsors for this year’s Liberation Day festivities.

IT&E presented a $5,000 cash donation to Saipan Mayor David Apatang, 2018 Liberation Day Committee Chairman Joe Ayuyu, and members of the committee on June 8, 2018.

“Liberation Day is a special time for us here in the Marianas to come together and celebrate the resiliency of our people and our culture. This is an event we support every year, and we’re proud do our part for another year of fun and memorable festivities for our community,” said Jim Oehlerking, CEO of IT&E.

The last day for floats and marching units to register for this year’s Liberation Day parade is Friday (June 15).

Applications are available at www.saipanmayor.net and must be submitted to applicable fees to the Office of the Mayor before 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best floats: $4,000 for 1st place, $3,000 for 2nd place, $2,000 for 3rd place, and $1,000 for 4th place.

Marching units, villages, government agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and school are welcomed to apply.

The parade will be held at 3 p.m. on July 4, 2018, from National Office to the Liberation Day festival grounds at Garapan Fishing Base.

Parade sequence will be announced at the mandatory safety briefing on June 28 at the Office of the Mayor of Saipan.

The Liberation Day festivities, presented by the Saipan Mayors’ Office and 2018 Liberation Day Committee, will be held at Garapan Fishing Base from June 29 to July 7, 2018, from 6 to 10 p.m. (closing at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays).  The celebration will include food and drink sales, live entertainment, games, arts and craft sales, and more.  This year’s Liberation Day theme is “Sea to Shining Sea,” celebrating the International Year of the Coral Reef and the islands’ oceanic heritage and cultures.
