The governor signed a proclamation designating June as NMI-Philippines Friendship Month.

Arago encouraged Filipino community members to continue contributing to the development of their country and the CNMI.

United Filipino Organization president Marlon Regaton, in his remarks, urged those in the Filipino community to continue to “share and use our God-given talent to be productive citizens of our nation and the place we live in.”

According to the NMI-Philippines Friendship Month proclamation, which was also signed by Arago,  “Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the Northern Mariana Islands are meeting their social responsibilities in their communities through the performance of meaningful civic duties, inspired volunteerism and active involvement in both public and private projects, resulting in the overall contribution to the Commonwealth’s economic development.”
