Rotaract seeks support from business sector

THE Rotaract Club, a group of young adults connected with the Rotary Club of Saipan, is seeking support from the business sector for the McFun Run next month, its president Genelin Camacho said.

She said the Rotary Club has asked Rotaract to organize the annual fundraising event along with McDonald’s Saipan.

“We would like to make this event successful,” Camacho said, adding that the club is asking businesses, groups or individuals to donate in-kind items for the raffle prizes.

“In gratitude, your company will be recognized throughout the morning of the event and in an appreciation message after the event,” she said.

Camacho said Rotaract is a club for adults from 18 to 30 years old. They meet twice a month to exchange ideas, plan activities and projects, and socialize.

“Rotaract clubs decide how to organize and run their clubs and what projects and activities to carry out,” she added, adding that Rotaract clubs are more than just community-service groups.

Each club, she added, is part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world.

“This effort starts at the community level, but it knows no limits in its outreach,” she said.

Camacho thanked donors for their generous contributions to and support of the club and its charitable activities.
