Fil-Am groups to celebrate 2nd anniversary of UN tribunal ruling

(Press Release) — In  observance of the 2nd anniversary of the victory of the Philippines against China at the United Nations Arbitral Tribunal, the National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Sea and  US Pinoys for Good Governance CNMI and Guam chapters will hold a celebration rally on Thursday, July 12,  at the San Jose Intersection on Beach Road from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and across from ITC Building, North Marine Corps Drive corner Chalan San Antonio in Tamuning, Guam, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Dr. Celia Lamkin, the groups’ chair, said similar rallies will be held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Vancouver, Canada and Italy.

On July 8, the National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Sea in Cainta, Rizal province in the Philippines and in Tokyo, Japan celebrated the anniversary.

In the CNMI, Mass will be celebrated at the following churches:

“Let us show to the world  the unity, solidarity and patriotism of all Filipinos in peacefully defending our territories and asserting our sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea,” Lamkin said. “The victory  of the West Philippine Sea is the victory of every Filipino.”

On July 12, 2016, the U.N. Arbitral Tribunal ruled that the Philippines has exclusive sovereign rights over the West Philippine Sea in the South China Sea, and that China’s “nine-dash line” is invalid.
