Hocog approves funding bill for Tinian

ACTING Gov. Victor B. Hocog has signed into law a funding measure for Tinian’s scholarship programs, among other items.

House Local Bill 20-67 will appropriate $79,000 from the license fees collected from pachinko slot machines and poker machines on Tinian.

The bill, which is now Tinian Local Law 20-13, was introduced by Rep. Edwin Aldan.

The money will be distributed as follows:

“$50,000 to fund the Fall 2019 Semester for the Tinian Municipal Scholarship; $10,000 for the 2019 Semester Master’s Program; $10,000 for the purchase of firearms and firearm accessories, and for the training of personnel for the Tinian Department of Lands and Natural Resources-Division of Fish and Wildlife; and $9,000 to purchase a zero-turn mower for the Tinian Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.”
