THE winners of the 4th McFun Run on Saturday will get “fabulous” prizes such as McDonald’s treats and gift certificates, McDonald’s owner/operator Marcia Ayuyu said.

There are categories for those 19 years old and under; 20-29 years old; 30-39 years old; 40-49 years old; and 50 years old and above.

Ayuyu, who is also president-elect of the Rotary Club of Saipan, said they will pick 14 winners. McDonald’s Saipan is this year’s major sponsor.

Ayuyu said upon registration, the first 100 participants will get a free t-shirt. The registration fee is $10.

The race will start at 6:30 a.m. at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan.

Ayuyu said McDonald’s will be giving free burrito breakfasts to the participants at the venue.

Water and fruit will also be provided during the race.

“Everything is set for the McFun Run this Saturday, and we invite community members to support the event,” Ayuyu said. “This is for a good cause, and the proceeds will go the various community projects of the Rotary Club of Saipan.”

On behalf of the club, she thanked the other sponsors: Herman’s Modern Bakery, Ming Yang, Twin Superstore, Kanoa Resort, National Office Supply, Pacific Islands Club, Aqua Resort, Saipan World Resort, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Marpac, Staywell, Hyatt Regency Saipan and Bank of Guam.

Club president Greg Borja said they are expecting 300 runners to take part in the event.

Club members and volunteers, including Rotaract members, will be ready to provide assistance to race participants.
