Mizanur Rahman arrested, again

AFTER being arrested last month for hurting his wife, Md. Mizanur Rahman is back in jail for violating a protective order.

Police said prior to the latest incident,  Rahman drove to a barbeque concession stand in San Antonio where his wife and a man were standing.

Rahman ordered his wife to follow him. She refused and told him to leave.

The wife had an active order of protection from the Superior Court which directed Rahman  not to have any direct contact with her.

Police said Rahman tried to grab his wife’s hand, but her male companion stepped in front of them, blocking and pushing Rahman away.

Rahman  then picked up a  piece of wood about 4 feet in length and swung it at the man, hitting him in the arm.

But the man held onto Rahman to stop him from hurting anyone else.

Rahman, 43, was charged with assault and battery, violation of an order of protection, and disturbing the peace.

Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan imposed a $5,000 cash bail on the defendant who was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.

He was ordered to return to court on Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing and on Aug. 20 for his arraignment.

Rahman was previously released after posting an appearance bond.
