GCA students win top awards in PGFC and Thespian competitions

(GCA) — Grace Christian Academy competitors win top awards in the second monthly qualifying Primary Grades Forensic Conference and Thespian competitions held on Oct. 6, 2018 at Green Meadows School.

First grader Anne Gabrielle Arriola is a consistent first place winner in Impromptu Speaking since September. Second grader Breanna May Lopez is another consistent first place winner in Reader’s Forum. Fifth grader Janus Calayo who won first place in Impromptu Speaking presented a well-researched speech about strawberries.

Second grader Deon Titus Torres, who competed for the first time, won first place in Impromptu Speaking for his speech about apples.

In the Junior Thespian competition, Sara Elizabeth Keaton is a consistent first place winner in Solo Musical since September. Keaton also competed in Duet Musical with Jinie Thompson for the first time and they won first place.

PGFC competition encourages public and private school from kindergarten 5 to fifth grade  students to participate in and become proficient in the forensic performing arts: reading, public speaking, and interpretations.

Thespian competition encourages public and private school students from 6th to 12th grade to participate in and become proficient in performing arts related to drama, music, and theater.

Thank you to all the judges, parents, and guardians who went and supported the students in these competitions on Oct. 6, 2018, at Green Meadows School.
