Saipan Centennial Lions Club donates relief goods to Rota typhoon victims

THE Saipan Centennial Lions Club donated relief goods to victims of Typhoon Mangkhut on Rota last Saturday.

Club president Arceli Lizama said they distributed 32 bags consisting of canned goods, rice, noodles, hygiene items, coffee and other food items.

She said the donations were received by former Lions Club members on Rota led by Antonio Quimbao.

Lizama said they were able to collect about $1,000 from club members to buy the relief goods.

On Oct. 20, Lizama said they will conduct their first “Run for a Cause” to provide more relief goods for Rota typhoon victims.

The event starts at 6 a.m. at the 13 Fishermen Memorial and will proceed to the Beach Road– Quartermaster intersection before heading back to the starting point.
