Tinian’s Kyle Flores graduates from US Army Basic Training

TINIAN — On Sept. 29, 2018, another former student of Tinian High School compelted U.S. Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Private First Class Kyle Borja Flores

The new soldier is Kyle Flores, who entered Basic Training as an E-2 / PVT2.  He was with the 3rd Battalion 39th Infantry Regiment which consisted of 600 to 700 trainees. At the end of his training cycle, he was promoted to private first class. PFC Flores is now stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia for his advanced individual training.

PFC Flores was an integral member of the Stallion Battalion of the Tinian Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program. While in the program, he was the Bravo Company commander and graduated as a cadet captain. PFC Flores was a member of the battalion’s Armed Drill Team, as well. Being part of the drill team, he was the commander of the Inspection Category of the CNMI PSS Multiple School Unit Drill Competition held on Saipan.

“My advice for people who would like to join the military,” stated PFC Flores, “is that although things may seem very difficult, the only person keeping you from graduating is yourself. As long as you continue to tell yourself that you can do it, there isn’t a challenge you won’t be able to overcome.”

Congratulations to PFC Kyle Flores! Those four years of joining the JROTC program has paid off and has helped you become the astounding individual you are today. The people of the CNMI and especially Tinian are proud of your exceptional performance and are eager to see your continued progress as you pursue your new career. Way to go PFC Kyle Flores! Hooah!
