Philippine freemason meets with members of NMI lodge

Very worshipful Mark S. McNew, junior grand lecturer overseas for the Grand Lodge of the Philippines, spoke about the administration of the lodge and character building.

“It was a fruitful two-and-half-hour lecture,” said very worshipful Ely Buenaventura, district deputy grandmaster of the Masonic District E – Saipan.

Buenaventura said McNew is married to a Filipina and resides in the Philippines.

As part of his responsibility, McNew travels to lodges within the Grand Lodge of the Philippine jurisdiction which includes Saipan, Japan, Korea and Guam to conduct lectures.

“We are happy about his visit,” Buenaventura said, adding that most of the Masonic Emon Lodge No. 179 members were present except those who had to report for work at the time.

He said McNew also attended a meeting of their lodge in Chalan Kanoa on Oct. 13.

With McNew were two brethren from Micronesia Lodge No. 173 in Guam: very worshipful Moody Gagarin and Paul Galman.

Buenaventura said the Masonic Emon Lodge No. 179 presented a lodge visitation certificate to McNew, Gagarin and Galman.
