He said they were assisted by student council officers of the Sinapalo Elementary School in distributing a total of 178 packages to students.

“There were very happy about it,” he said, adding the donation of school supplies was very timely because many of the children were affected by Typhoon Mangkhut.

Aside from school supplies, they also distributed relief goods including flashlights and milk.

He said Micronesia Brokers and I Love Saipan have been very generous in helping the club send its donations to typhoon victims.

The club also partnered with Micronesian Air Cargo Services to distribute the donations on Rota, Borja added.

On Tinian, he said they distributed dictionaries to 40 students at Tinian Elementary School.

Since 2011, the club has been distributing dictionaries to public and private schools.

The dictionary-distribution program is one of many that relate to the Rotary Club’s six areas of concern: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development.
