Emergency food assistance benefits issued to over 11,000 households

(Nutrition Assistance Program) — As of December 4, 2018, 11,209 households were issued DNAP benefits totaling $6.9 million and approximately 1,346 NAP households totaling $282,713 in supplemental benefits have been issued since the implementation of the Emergency Food Assistance on November 25, 2018.

The Emergency Food Assistance operation will be ending on December 8, 2018.

The schedule for first responders, disaster relief, disaster recovery workers and DNAP workers will be on December 8.  First responders are personnel involved in public and human safety, law enforcement and emergency operations. Disaster relief and recovery workers are personnel involved with public utilities, debris cleanup, shelter assignments and those who have been assigned to assist with the emergency operations. Individuals who have been involved with disaster relief and recovery efforts, and who have not applied for DNAP, may come and apply on Saturday, December 8 at the NAP Office in As Lito.  Applicants are kindly asked to bring their agency issued IDs and their documentation needed for their DNAP application.

First responders, disaster relief/recovery and DNAP workers

DNAP coupon benefits are meant for purchase of food and food commodities at NAP Authorized Retailers which will expire on January 31, 2019.  Disaster coupons, including NAP coupons, are temporarily allowed to purchase hot foods and ready-to-eat meals, but only at authorized NAP retailers. Hot foods and ready-to-eat meals are those that are prepared for immediate purchase. These will only be allowed through January 31, 2019.

Due to the ongoing processing of the DNAP on Saipan, the regular issuance of the NAP benefits for December 2018 have been delayed. NAP benefits will be issued on December 6 on Tinian, on December 7 on Rota, and from December 10 to December 14, 2018 on Saipan.
