Community encouraged to support Lieweila benefit concert

REPRESENTATIVE Sheila Babauta is encouraging community members to support the upcoming Lieweila benefit concert that will feature the Olomwaay Family Choir.

The event is set for Friday, Feb. 15, at the Hyatt starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $100 each and include wine and gourmet appetizers.

The Olomwaay Family Choir aims to spread the word of God through music, said Babauta who will serve as mistress of ceremonies with Ben Jones Jr. as master of ceremonies.

She said the concert will help raise funds to purchase new instruments and equipment that will replace those lost during Super Typhoon Yutu.

The Olomwaay Family Choir is also preparing to record a Christmas album. “Your support will allow us to grow as a choir and share our music,” Babauta said.

The Olomwaay Family Choir was established in 2011. It has expanded over the years and continues to “open its doors and heart to anyone who has the passion to spread God’s word through music.”
