Dengue virus continues to infect residents in Palau

KOROR (Island Times/Pacnews) — Over two months since the Ministry of Health declared a dengue outbreak, residents in Palau continue to be infected by the mosquito-borne virus.

The latest report by MOH revealed eight more individuals were infected with the dengue virus from February 8 to 15 alone.

The ministry continues to advise the public to exercise preventive measures such as eliminating possible mosquito breeding sites, wearing clothes that cover skin, and applying mosquito repellant, among others.

MOH also asks the public to immediately seek medical assistance if experiencing symptoms of dengue fever such as sudden high fever, severe headache and backache, chills, body ache, joint and muscle pain.
