Arts Council Executive Director Parker Yobei said they will once again seek the involvement of the community to ensure the festival’s success.

He said the Marianas Visitors Authority will also collaborate with the Arts Council and may bring in performers from off-island.

The Department of Public Safety and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services will secure the venue while the Bureau of Environmental Health will inform vendors about food handling rules, Yobei added.

He said the four-day event will incorporate games and educational workshops, such as traditional healing using medicinal plants.

The registration for  participating artists and vendors starts on Feb. 25 and will end on March 30 or all available spots are filled.

Yobei said they will provide 24 canopies to food vendors and 64 to artists and artisans.

Gloriana Teuira, the festival coordinator, said the Flame Tree Arts Festival proclamation will be signed on April 8 in the governor’s conference room.
