Tinian High School Stallion Battalion Cadet Challenge Bowl 2019

TINIAN — Every semester, the Tinian High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program conducts a Cadet Challenge Bowl.

It is a full day event during which the cadets are evaluated in a rotation of five main stations which are  sit-ups, push-ups, v-reach, shuttle run, and the one-mile run/walk. The event is meant to gather statistics that will help cadets improve their physical fitness skills, strength, flexibility, and stamina.

The Stallion Battalion conducted the event on Feb. 6, 2019, the last day of first semester, at the Tinian High School Napu Field. The battalion broke up into four groups and rotated every 25 minutes to complete the first four stations. Afterward, they gathered in the parking lot for the one-mile run/walk. Once all stations were accomplished, they headed back to the JROTC building and the Napu field to have lunch. Lunch break was followed by the company games: Tug of War, the Boat is Sinking, and Capture the Flag. For their part, the drill teams performed their exhibition routines.

The scores of the cadets from each station will be assessed and the top three males and females will receive awards. We congratulate them and the rest of the cadets for their outstanding performance throughout the event.

Thank you to JC Café Restaurant for preparing the meals for the cadets. The food was delicious! An additional thank you to the Department of Public Safety and EMS for providing cadets with medical attention, and assisting with the evaluations.

The Tinian JROTC Program would also like to extend its gratitude to Tinian High School principal Dionne Santos for allowing the battalion to execute their event. Lastly, a huge thank you to the cadets who attended the Cadet Challenge Bowl despite the hot and sunny weather. The Stallion Battalion appreciates the continuous dedication and effort you all have been delivering to the program.

Hooah!
