Jimenez, Navarro of GMS shine in statewide Math Court

(Press Release) — Two of Green Meadow School middle school students brought home honor and glory after winning in the Middle School Math Court Statewide Competition held on Feb. 23, 2019 at Kagman Elementary School.

Joseph Jimenez, a 7th Grade student, won 3rd place overall which qualifies him to Team CNMI. Joseph Jimenez, who ranked 2nd in 7th grade division, and the other members of the team will be representing the CNMI in the National Math Court Competition in San Jose, California on April 6, 2019.

This is not the first time Jimenez will compete nationally. He had been on Team CNMI for two consecutive years in the 4th-6th grade division. This time, he will compete in the middle school division.

In addition, Chealzka Navarro, a 6th grader, and Joseph Jimenez placed 4th in the Team Round. Navarro ranked 3rd overall in the 6th grade division.

The GMS administrators are thankful to Mr. & Mrs. Jimenez and to Mr. & Mrs. Navarro for their untiring support, as well as to Ms. Ana Liza Quiambao for helping the students.
