Pangelinan said at about 8:42 p.m., Saturday, Gabayeron was arrested in her residence in Chalan Kiya.

“The defendant was processed and booked at the CNMI Department of Corrections,” he added.

Pangelinan said numerous leads were provided by the public “which ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.”

He thanked the callers for keeping the island community safe. “If you see something, say something, don’t hesitate — call 911,” Pangelinan added.

Variety on Thursday learned that Gabayeron worked in a hotel and had been laid off four days before the incident.

A cashier of the poker establishment told Variety that the suspect started showing up in the game room on Monday last week to “play and hang around.” According to the cashier, the suspect said she is a former garment worker who lives in San Antonio.

Security camera footage showed the knife-wielding Gabayeron struggling with the cashier. Gabayeron then grabbed a handful of bills from the cash register before exiting the poker arcade. Police said the suspect stole about $650 from the poker arcade during the robbery that happened on Thursday morning, April 11, 2019 at about 6:30-6:45 a.m.
