13 Saipan students attend LEO campout on Guam

THIRTEEN students from Saipan joined the three-day campout of Leo Clubs, the youth group of the International Lions Club, at Agat Sagan Bisita on Guam.

There were 41 participants, 12 to 18 years old, in the Leadership Experience Opportunity or LEO campout from April 12 to 14.

The participants from Saipan were Lyndon Digno, Sean Aaron Ancheta, Victoria Ancheta, Donna Galvez, Jane Nicole Mozunder, John Ezekiel Canape, Andre Camille Arriola, Jenny Rose Batangan, Angelica David, Edrianne Ganiban, Beatrize Ashlee Mendoza, Sybil Kate Meriveles and Angel Nabaunag. They are Saipan Mighty Dolphins Leo Club members.

They were accompanied by their advisers Eden Mercado and Noemi Catigan.

Lions Clubs International Region 2 District 204 chairperson Annamae Adaza said Leos are prospective members of the Lions Club.

She said the annual campout allows participants to meet other Leo club members, share their talents and establish friendships.

“This is really needed for students because it brings out the best in them,” she said.

The campout activities included games, fellowship and presentations from the Guam National Guard and the Guam Police Department. There were also an art demonstrations and coconut weaving.

The participating Saipan students are thankful to the donors who helped pay for their travel to Guam: TSL Foundation, IT&E, Lions District Gov.-elect Fely Angel, Lina Dimaano, Abby Wang, Marissa Hardt, Noel Conti, Jean Beltran, Malou Ernest, Lucy Buensalido, Fe Ovalles of Guam Marianas Training Center, Violy Sablan, Liz Hofschneider, MHS staff, Saipan Fil-Am Lions Club, Saipan Alliance Lions Club and REQ Day & Night Child Care Clinic.

The Saipan participants are also thankful to the Lions Club members on Guam and Past District Gov. Emelio Uy.
