3 GCA students on NMI Math Court team

(Grace Christian Academy) — GCA students performed well in high school Math Court as the regional competition concluded to decide who earned slots on the CNMI team that will compete in the Math League national competition in Kansas City, Missouri set for May 18, 2019.

Julie Quan, 10th grade silver medalist, is one of the six students from different high schools to compete as part of the Team CNMI. Six alternates were also chosen for the CNMI team, including Seong Beom Kevin Song, 11th grade silver medalist, and Jushua Qiu, 12th grade gold medalist. Jushua Qiu competed last year as part of Team CNMI. In addition, their team results in the regional competition earned them a silver medal.

Other GCA winners include Joanah Jimenez who also won gold medal in 9th grade division. GCA dominated the 12th grade division with three winners that includes Jushua Qiu, gold medalist with Chener Oscar Li and Tina Choi in 4th place and 5th place respectively.

Mrs. Susan Pajarillaga, GCA Math Court coordinator, thanked Mr. Glenn Keaton, GCA AP Physics and Calculus teacher for his help in training the GCA Math Court competitors.

The administration, faculty & staff, and parents of Grace Christian Academy are very proud of each Math Court competitor and would like to extend their congratulations to the following island-wide regional winners and state round qualifiers:
