Manamko’ enjoy Easter egg-hunt, lunch, games

OVER 60 senior citizens took part in the annual Easter egg-hunt at Sugar King Park on Thursday, Office on Aging Director Walter Manglona said.

“Our manamko’ enjoyed a day of fun and excitement,” he added.

Kingich Baulis and Teresita Sorroza found the golden eggs which were sponsored by Manglona and received monetary prizes and canvas tarps.

After the outdoor event, the manamko’ were treated to a lunch buffet.

In the afternoon, one of the Saipan Seniors Advisory Council members, Gina Draper, hosted games for the manamko’.

Among the winners were Luz Buccat, Minda Cullins, Mary Angela Wheat, Rita Reyes and Remedios Santa Ana.

Their prizes included coins for bingo, and assorted gifts sponsored by the Saipan Seniors Advisory Council.

“Any form of exercise is always a good thing, especially if you get to win some amazing prizes in the process,” Manglona said.

He said there will be more events for the manamko’ when they celebrate Older Americans Month in May.

On May 1, the manamko’ will participate in a roadside-waving activity at the Garapan basketball court.

In addition, there will be a softball game on Navy Hill, a hula class, a sight-seeing tour and picnic, a Manamko’ Takeover Day, wellness and lunch event, a concert, a Mother’s Day celebration party, a ground-golf tournament at American Memorial Park, ping-pong and pool tournaments, an Iron Chef competition, Frisbee golf tournament, movie night at Regal Saipan Megaplex, the and Manamko’ King and Queen coronation ball at the Saipan Senior Center.
