SP Dancoe & Associates, Team Victoria donate $1,500 to youth program

SP Dancoe & Associates and Team Victoria on Tuesday donated $1,000 and $500 respectively to the Saipan Fishermen’s Association youth program.

SP Dancoe & Associates and Team Victoria were “honored to offer a glimpse of what they have a passion for — the ocean and its abundance [and] majestic beauty,” SFA community outreach chairman Wayne Pangelinan said.

“We must continue to support and connect with people that are passionate about sustainability and the environment in order to foster a greater and healthier lifestyle for everyone today and way into the future,” SP Dancoe & Associates president Sonya P. Dancoe said.

“We are surrounded by the vast ocean thriving with abundant life which forms a vital part of our eco-system and daily lives, so we hope that what is learned today through this program paves the way for many others in our community,” she added.

Diego and Vicky Benavente of Team Victoria, who are long-time advocates for the fishing community on Saipan, said they have participated in numerous fishing tournaments on Saipan, Tinian, Rota & Guam, and are eager to teach students how to tie lures to a fishing line.

SFA president Gene Weaver said the Public School System-Daok Academy students participating in the program will “learn about our environment and how important the ocean is to our lives — the students will also have a chance to practice what they will learn and it is our hope that they will be able to grow with it and pass it on.”
