Conrad began to develop his love for science at Tinian High School with the support of all his teachers. He then earned his bachelor’s degree with honors at University of Nevada, where he completed a research project in developmental neurobiology under Dr. Patricia Berninsone. After working for a few years in a medical laboratory, he then entered into the biomedical sciences graduate program with a fellowship at the Ohio State University with a concentration in Neurological and Neuromuscular Disorders. Under the mentorship of Dr. Min Zhou, he completed and defended his dissertation on the subject of neuroglial physiology and development.

Dr. Conrad Kiyoshi will now undergo further training as a postdoctoral researcher to uncover biological mechanisms that occur in brain and spinal cord injury and disease. In the future, he will return to the CNMI in hopes to teach and inspire the next generation of scientists from the Marianas.
