TSL Foundation supports Miss Earth-NMI pageant

(Press Release) — The Tan Siu Lin Foundation is on board with Exquisite Productions Marianas for the historic staging of the Miss Earth-Northern Marianas pageant.

The TSL Foundation, the charity arm of TanHoldings, donated $2,500 for the pageant that will be held in the CNMI for the first time. Eight candidates will be vying for the Miss Earth-Northern Marianas 2019 crown and the honor to lead its advocacy for the preservation and protection of the environment.

“Congratulations to Exquisite Productions Marianas for bringing the Miss Earth pageant in the Marianas. We are one with Miss Earth-Northern Marianas pageant in raising awareness and organizing projects that aim to protect our environment, ” TanHoldings chief executive officer Jerry Tan said.

“We are fortunate to live in a beautiful island and we must keep it that way for the future generations,” he added.

Exquisite Productions Marianas president Dee Clayton is pleased to have the TSL Foundation and other members of the business community as supporters of the inaugural Miss Earth-Northern Marianas pageant.

“On behalf of Exquisite Productions Marianas officials, we would like to welcome the Tan Siu Lin Foundation as one of our sponsors. We thanked them for their generosity and support to the first-ever Miss Earth-Northern Marianas pageant,” Clayton said.

“We look forward to our continued partnership, as we promote environmental awareness and love for our beautiful home island through this pageant,” she added.

The Miss Earth-Northern Marianas 2019 pageant will be held Saturday, June 22, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan at 6 p.m. The candidates are Nicole Malakai, Leisha Deleon Guerrero, Joanna Navarro, Mary Joy Masongsong, Jessme Jones, Jan Zowie Cruz, Pheona David, and Kat Johnson. Four crowns with elements earth, air, fire, and water would be at handed over, along with the Miss Earth-Northern Marianas 2019 title. This year’s Miss Earth Northern Marianas will represent the Commonwealth to the 19th Miss Earth in November with the venue yet to be announced.

Besides preparing for the pageant, the eight candidates kept themselves busy with leading and participating in activities, such as tree planting and beach cleanup, that focus on taking care of our environment and promoting our islands as a tourist destination.

We would like to wish all of them the best of luck in tomorrow’s pageant,” TSL Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino said.
