EUCON International University’s four graduates, who obtained a degree in education and Bible, will stay on Saipan to serve the community through their school, Eucon President Dr. Christian Wei said.

The four graduates are Sheng Xian Wang, bachelor of arts in Bible; Jia Michael Zhang, bachelor of science in education; Yi Yi Ni, bachelor of science in education; and Christiane Judy Wei, bachelor of science in education.

Sheng Xian Wang will serve as Eucon’s dorm supervisor while pursuing a master’s degree in theology. Jia Michael Zhang will be the assistant to the Eucon principal while Yi Yi Ni will be an elementary school teacher at Eucon like Christiane Judy Wei, the youngest daughter of Dr. Christian Wei.

Dr. Wei said Eucon provides a Christian-centered education that also aims to help Christian parents follow biblical principles in raising their children.

“Many Christian schools have started shifting from the emphasis of training young people to serve Christ to academic excellence,” he said. “Some Christian schools seem to be drifting away from the word of God.”

He said most Christian schools are having a hard time to fulfill their mission because many parents prefer to send their children “to famous but worldly colleges and universities.”

He added, “Christian parents need to realize that God commands parents to train their children in the right way…. It is a Christian school’s duty to train the child to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.”

“And as Christian parents,” he said, “our job is not to train children to be successful, famous powerful or rich. Our job is to train godly children to serve God and to be a disciple of Jesus Christ,” Dr. Wei said.
