Administration set for public outreach to further discuss NMI financial situation

(Office of the Governor) — The administration’s public outreach presentation is set for today, Wednesday, June 26, to accommodate additional presenters and federal officials who will be on island to further explain recovery goals and economic solutions following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Yutu.

Interested members of the public are invited to view presentations from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Marianas Visitors Authority, the CNMI Department of Finance, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Office of Planning and Development on the administration’s overall recovery priorities, the decision to reduce spending in order to stabilize government finances, and to discuss a path forward and solutions for the community.

Presentations will be held at the Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

The public outreach will also be live-streamed on the CNMI Office of the Governor Facebook page through a collaboration between Northern Marianas College, IT&E CNMI, and the governor’s office.
