SUPERIOR Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo on Thursday imposed a $10,000 cash bail on a man accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their 6-year-old daughter.

According to court records, Kileleman had a previous conviction for domestic violence.

Kileleman, 26, who was in the custody of the Department of Corrections, was represented by Assistant Public Defender Karie Compstock while Assistant Attorney General Robby Glass Jr. appeared for the government.

According to the complaint, Kileleman, his girlfriend and daughter arrived at their home at around 9 p.m.

Kileleman told his girlfriend to find a babysitter for their daughter so they could go to the bar together.

An argument ensued when the girlfriend refused Kileleman’s demand.

At about 10:22 p.m.,  police arrived at the couple’s apartment in Garapan in response to a disturbance report.

The victim told police that she was assaulted by Kileleman.

She said he shoved her, causing her to fall. Kileleman then pulled her hair,  punched  her and tried to choke her, she told the police.

She added that the incident happened in front of their 6-year-old daughter.

Without being asked, police said, the girl told the responding officers that Kileleman pushed her mother and slapped her face.

Kileleman has a problem whenever he’s intoxicated, the victim said. She told police that Kileleman may still be on probation for assaulting her last year.

According to court documents, Kileleman pled guilty to domestic violence-assault and battery on May 30, 2018. He admitted  to punching his girlfriend after seeing her with another man.
