NMTI human resources officer Frank Rabauliman said they offer classes on Cooking 101, Woodworking, and Automotive: Car Care.

He said NMTI also wanted to train students in Electronic Systems, but “nobody signed up for it.”

For Cooking 101, 13 students signed up; Woodworking, six; and Automotive: Car Care, three.

“Probably the reason why we have low numbers is because it’s not free,” Rabauliman said.

NMTI is charging each student $125 for Cooking 101, and $75 for Automotive: Car Care and Woodworking.

Rabauliman said there are also other summer programs offered for free by other organizations and government agencies, and this can be another reason for the low turnout for NMTI’s summer program.
