THE Korean Community of Saipan, in collaboration with the mayor’s office, will conduct its annual student cultural exchange program this September.

Yuki Kishimoto Yuki Kishimoto, student exchange program coordinator at the Saipan mayor’s office, said they are now accepting applications.

The program is for ninth to 12th graders.

Only 20 slots are available, and it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Kishimoto said each applicant will pay $500 for airfare, meal, transportation and lodging for a five-day stay in South Korea from Sept. 1 to 5.

Students are required to complete an application form and must have a U.S. passport which should be valid at least six months after the final day of travel.

There will be no home-stay, and the students will share rooms in a lodging house.

The initial itinerary includes a visit to Lotte World, historical sites in Seoul, the COEX Aquarium, the 63 Building and KBS.

The students will also visit industrial factories, the Namdaemun Market and the Namsan or Seoul Tower.

Deadline for application submission is July 31, 2019.
