3 individuals charged with dealing 50 grams of ‘ice’

THREE individuals have been indicted for conspiracy to possess 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The grand jury indictment, which was initially filed under seal on Aug. 1, 2019, was unsealed Monday.

Vince Koki Deleon Guerrero, Evelyn Chon Tydingco and Elaine Francisco Demei were charged in the case.

The indictment stated that Leon Guerrero, Tydingco and Demei intentionally conspired, along with other persons, to possess over 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute between Feb. 15 and 21, 2018.

The U.S. government is seeking forfeiture — upon conviction— of any money or property the defendants might have acquired through the alleged drug dealing.

Leon Guerrero and Tydingco were released under their own personal recognizance by District Court for the NMI Magistrate Heather L. Kennedy.

The two, who were represented by court-appointed attorneys Steven Pixley and David Banes, pled not guilty to the charge.

Judge Kennedy said the jury trial of Leon Guerrero and Tydingco will start on Oct. 15, 2019 at 10 a.m.

As for Demei, Judge Kennedy granted the motion of Assistant U.S. Attorney Garth Backe, and Demei’s court-appointed attorney, Mark B. Hanson, to continue the defendant’s initial appearance on Aug. 26, 2019 at 10 a.m.

Demei was not served with a summons and failed to appear at the hearing on Aug. 12.
