He appeared for a bail hearing before Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan on Tuesday afternoon.

The judge said Tudela can be released upon posting 10 percent of the $1,000 cash bail or $100.

At the hearing, Tudela was represented by the Public Defender’s Office while Assistant Attorney General J. Robert Glass Jr. appeared for the government.

The judge ordered Tudela to return to court on Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. for a preliminary hearing and on Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. for his arraignment.

The victim told police that Tudela came home early morning Monday from gambling and was very drunk.

She said she woke up because Tudela was throwing things in the kitchen.

She told police that Tudela threw a can at her and hit the side of her stomach. Tudela, she added, then pushed her with both his hands causing her to fall on the bed while holding their 15-month-old son.

She said she handed their son to Tudela to calm him down but “he tossed our son onto the bed.”

She told police that Tudela “only acts like that when he is drunk.”

In 2017, she said Tudela slapped her face with his right hand, pulled her hair and kicked her on the left leg during an argument. He was drunk at the time, she added.
