Eighth Notes Music to hold recital on Saturday

EIGHTH Notes Music will hold its annual recital on Saturday at the multi-purpose center where 80 musicians will perform.

Eighth Notes Music owner Russel Clinton said the recital will be held in two sets. The first will start at 1 p.m. and the second will start at 4 p.m. Some students will perform solo and some will perform in ensembles.

Clinton said this year’s recital will feature unique ensembles.

“A typical three-piece or four-piece ensemble consists of drums, guitar and bass, or drums, guitar or piano or some combination of those three. But having drums, violins and ukulele or drums, or piano and ukulele is something you don’t usually see together,” he said in an interview.

He added that the students will perform original compositions, popular and classical pieces.

Clinton teaches violin, guitar, drums, bass, ukulele and piano at Eighth Notes Music which is located on the second floor of Tun Kiko’s building in Garapan.

He said the recital is for people who are learning how to play instruments or who just love music in general. “A recital allows you to see people who really love what they’re doing, and are really doing it well.”

Tickets are $10. For more information, call Russel Clinton at 785-7520.
