He said they planted 25 coconut trees over the weekend to replace the trees destroyed by Typhoons Soudelor and Yutu.

Aguon was assisted by his son, Danny, and fellow community volunteers Gerry Agulto and Shane Ayuyu.

John Kiyu provided them with the coconut seedlings, Aguon said.

The replanting of trees in the Sugar Dock area will also continue, he said, adding that other community volunteers are willing to assist in the implementation of the program.

“It is important to plant more trees on the beach and help preserve the environment,” Aguon said. He encourages other community members to join cleanup operations and plant trees.
