Last call for Humanities Award nominations

THE Northern Marianas Humanities Council’s deadline for the submission of nominations for the Governor’s Humanities Award is on Friday, 4.p.m.

Leo Pangelinan, executive director of the council, is encouraging members of the public to nominate individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the field of humanities.

The council said a nominee should have a notable humanities achievement in the past year, as demonstrated in any of the following four categories:

  • • Research and publication in the humanities;
  • • Preservation of traditional cultural practices;
  • • Preservation of CNMI history; and
  • • Outstanding humanities teacher (in classroom and non-classroom settings).

Nominations can be submitted to the Humanities Council office at the Springs Plaza on Middle Road in Gualo Rai or emailed to leop@nmhcouncil.org.
