CUC to host trunk & treat on Halloween

THE Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will host a trunk & treat Halloween event on Oct. 31, according to Alyssa King, executive secretary of the executive director’s office of the utility.

It will be held in the CUC parking lot at Joeten Dandan from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“This will be CUC’s first time to host a Halloween event because the one we scheduled last year was canceled due to the aftermath of Typhoon Yutu,” King said.

King said other agencies and businesses operating at the Joeten Dandan building may create their own Halloween attractions, including a haunted house.

“Information will be sent out in flyers, the newspaper, and on CUC’s Facebook page,” she added.

CUC Executive Director Gary Camacho said they will resume the holiday decorating contest for residential homes in December. Last year’s competition was canceled because of the typhoon recovery program.

This year, Camacho said they will have several categories so many residential homes can join and win prizes. The contest will include Tinian and Rota, he added.

In 2017, JJ and Betty Ann Cabrera of Kagman II won the holiday decoration contest.
