Community supports ukulele festival

(Marianas Ukulele Festival Association) — Due to the tremendous support from the local community and Korean ukulele performers, the Marianas Ukulele Festival, held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at the Marianas Business Plaza was a huge success.

The 5th annual festival featured professional ukulele masters Blues Lee and his wife Vivian Kim, along with the Yeong Ju Teacher Ukulele Ensemble from Korea. Local performers included Marvin and Jay, Emi Peter-Palican, Joe Limes, Alana’ia, Da Kine, Jose Carreon, Juan and Keoni Ichihara, Hui Ukulele Club (MHS), the Monkeya Brothers, Selepeo Sisters, Saipan Community School, and the Ukituki Band.
