Phase 1 of CHCC’s solar power project will be completed in January

PHASE 1 of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s solar power project will be completed in January 2020, according to CHCC Hospital Emergency Preparedness Director Warren Villagomez.

“If there are no hiccups,” Villagomez said the photovoltaic system shade structure project may be commissioned a month before its February deadline.

The CHCC solar power project covers section D of the Commonwealth Health Center parking lot.

In his meeting with the contractor, Micronesia Renewable Energy, Villagomez was told that everything was going as planned. “We are not foreseeing any situation that would delay the project progression,” he added.

He said workers are now “waiting for the curing time to be completed” before installing steel poles.

“The panels are being installed and interconnection within the panels are being done, but not into the facilities yet. It is going to happen as soon as all the steel pillars are up,” he added.

CHCC obtained $560,000 in grants from the Department of the Interior for the implementation of phase 1 of the three-phase solar power project.
