Joyce, who has been with the company since November 1994, is the first in the Ayuyu organization to receive the prestigious award. The award is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her team, to the customers that visit her restaurant daily, and to brand McDonald’s. Originally from the Philippines, Joyce began her career with McDonald’s. Since the start of her career, Joyce has excelled in each of her roles as a crew member, to an area manager, and to her current role as general manager. In 2014, Joyce was given the opportunity to attend McDonald’s Hamburger University, a state-of-the-art training center for McDonald’s managers and employees, in Chicago, IL.

Upon graduation, she was promoted to general manager for McDonald’s Garapan. In Aug 2019, Joyce was promoted to general manager for McDonald’s Middle Road. Currently, she manages a team of 59 employees. When asked about her work ethic, Joe Ayuyu Jr., area supervisor, says: “I am so proud of all the accomplishments Joyce has made thus far and I am confident in her abilities to accomplish much more. She is an inspiration to her team and everyone around her.” Joe goes on to share that Joyce “embodies the brand McDonald’s to the fullest and we are blessed to have her as part of our team. Cheers to 2020 and beyond.”

McDonald’s of Saipan owner/operator Marcia Ayuyu adds, “Joyce is a very dedicated person and has great people skills. She is a great leader.”

With more than 36,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide, Joyce joins the top 1 percent of general managers that demonstrate superior performance in their McDonald’s restaurant and throughout the McDonald’s system. In addition, Joyce is the first Global Ray Kroc Awardee from the Mariana Islands.
