She said 50 individuals were able to avail themselves of the Lions’ “Feed the Hungry” program.

Each received a 10-pound bag of rice, assorted canned goods, noodles, and coffee.

Canape said the annual “Feed the Hungry” program is part of the global cause of the Lions Club International.

“We chose San Antonio village as the recipient because there are still lots of families there living in tents after Typhoon Yutu,” she added.

Canape said they turned over the food items to the parish priest, Harold Funa, because the church knows who the less fortunate families of the village are.

She said the funding used for the Feed the Hungry program came from the proceeds of various fundraising activities of the club.

“This is another way of saying ‘thank you’ to all those who supported our club in our fundraising projects and other programs,” she added.
