THE A. Amanda Gruchy Fund, in a press release, announced the award to Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero of a $1,200 theatrical scholarship toward expenses at Northern Kentucky University where she will study musical theatre.

Anna Rose Deleon GuerreroAnna Rose Deleon GuerreroThis award is the first such scholarship granted by the fund since it began supporting the arts many years ago.

The fund decided it needed to provide recognition and assistance for college expenses to a student who has shown enormous dedication to the theatre arts over many years.

The fund, after evaluating her application, felt Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero was eminently qualified for such recognition and assistance for her many years of work in acting, music and dance through her Thespian Troupe at Saipan Southern High School, in productions with The Friends of the Arts, and in productions and competitions with The Thespians of the Western Pacific Islands. She also demonstrated her superior skills at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln Nebraska where she both competed in individual events and performed in chapter select showcase productions.

Her years of work are a testimony to her sincerity in reaching the goal of being a life-long performing artist as well as proof of her dedication to school and community service.

This award will forever be based on a future student living up to the standards of work and dedication Deleon Guerrero has set.

“We are confident her work at Northern Kentucky University will be a success based on her history of hard work and study here in the CNMI. The CNMI will miss her dedication and performances here, but we will continue to be proud of her work in the future,” the fund said.
