Over $12K in cash at stake in Bridge Capital art contest

A TOTAL of $12,500 in cash prizes will go to the winners of the 4th Annual CNMI Art Competition hosted by Bridge Capital LLC.

Rowena Relado of Bridge Capital said this amount will be divided among all winners in the different categories.

The Best of Show will win $2,500. In the 1 to 30 years old category for paintings, the first prize is $,1500 while the second prize is $1,000. The 30 years old and above category winners will also receive $1,500 and $1,000 for first and second prizes.

The same prize amounts will go to the first and second place winners in woodcarving and photography.

To make things more exciting, Relado said they will introduce the text voting process in the art contest.

Through Bridge Capital’s partnership with Docomo Pacific Saipan, members of the community will be able to vote for their favorite artwork through text messages.

The text voting process will run throughout the artwork exhibition during the Flame Tree Arts Festival on April 16-20 at the Civic Center. Relado said text votes will count for 10 percent of the artwork’s total score. A Texter’s Choice Award will also be given out.
