Full house at NMC info session

ABOUT 100 prospective students attended the information session at Northern Marianas College on Wednesday.

The students learned about college programs and services during the activity and met with two NMC student speakers who talked about their experience as college students. They also learned about the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, NMC’s credit for prior learning program, and other initiatives.

“We were very glad to see that many people attended the activity and took the first step toward earning their college degrees,” said NMC Dean of Student Services Leo Pangelinan.

He added that NMC looks forward to meeting the students when classes begin in a few days.

The two students who spoke about their college experience were Rosalia Aldan and Ervin Cruz.

NMC faculty, staff, and students from the various degree and certificate programs set up information booths and answered student questions about specific programs and services.

NMC currently offers several degree and certificate programs, including a bachelor of science degree in education with an emphasis on elementary education, early childhood education, special education, or rehabilitation and human services.

Students can now enroll for the new Bachelor of Science degree in business management.

Other programs are the associate degree in business administration with an emphasis on accounting, business management, or computer applications; liberal arts, nursing, natural resources management, criminal justice, and hospitality management.

Registration for NMC’s Fall 2014 semester begins next week on Aug. 11, 2014. More information about class schedules, important dates, and placement tests can be found online at www.marianas.edu.
