$700K NOAA grant for non-government organizations

UP to $700,000 in grant funding is now available for non-profit organizations within the U.S. territories that want to implements projects and programs for coral reef management, the CNMI Office of Grant Management announced yesterday.

The grants will be made available through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and information about them can be viewed at http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=262708/.

To qualify, the non-profit group must work and have a partnership with the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program in executing coral reef management projects.

Partnership for the project will be from 12 to 18 months, and it should benefit Pacific islands such as Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam and the CNMI.

The deadline for submission of applications through www.grants.gov is 11 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2014.
