Mount Carmel School Class of 2005 helps classmate

TO help their former classmate who was a victim of fire in June, Mount Carmel School AlumKnights Class of 2005 recently presented a check for $6,733.20 to Tasia Bocago Sablan.

Sablan’s house was burned to ashes during a fire in June. She stayed with relatives as her MCS family assisted her in providing the things she needed.

“I am so speechless and grateful for the kindness of awesome friends and the community,” Sablan said in an interview.

She said through the help of the community and the MCS Class of ‘05, her family was able to start building their lives again.

Her family is now renting an apartment.

She said she never thought the accident would happen to her but she is grateful for the support she received from the community.

The money that was donated to her was collected through the MCS Class of ‘05 “Bring a Family Home” fundraiser last month at Naked Fish Bar.

Members of the MCS Class of ‘05 accepted donations of goods from the community: clothes, school supplies, household items, toiletries, small appliances, non-perishable food and toys.

MCS Class of ’05 would like to thank Marpac, Naked Fish Cafe, Joeten Enterprises, Traders Insurance, Xerox, DFS Galleria, Trench Tech Purebred Saipan, 670 Rocksteady Shop, former Speaker Heinz Hofschneider & former Sen.
