DPW’s Ada appointed to Committee on Arrangements for 2016 RNC

DEPARTMENT of Public Works Secretary and local GOP Chairman James Ada was chosen with U.S. Congresswoman Aumua Amata Coleman as members of the Committee on Arrangements for the 2016 Republican National Convention that will be held in Cleveland, Ohio next year to choose the party’s candidate for president of the United States of America.

In an interview on Monday, Ada said received a letter from RNC Chairman Reinhold Richard “Reince” Priebus notifying him that he was appointed to be part of the national convention.

“I feel honored to be chosen to be part of a planning committee that I know will play a big role in the success of the RNC,” Ada said.

He did not expect to be appointed even though Priebus spoke to him informally in January about serving on the Committee on Arrangements.

“I was surprised, and at the same time I feel humbled,” Ada said.

In an email, Priebus said Ada and Radewagen will work with Committee on Arrangements Chairman Steve King.

“I am pleased to announce this top-notch team who will work alongside Chairman Steve King to ensure that the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland exceeds our highest standards,” Priebus said. “Together, these individuals will implement a plan for the event that will make our entire party proud. I am also grateful for the support of the community of Cleveland and look forward to working with everyone toward an outstanding convention experience.”

Ada said he is prepared for whatever tasks he will be required to do for the success of the national party.

The local GOP is affiliated with its national counterpart.
