(MVA) — The Marianas Tourism Education Council and Marianas Visitors Authority are gearing up for the second semester of educational outreach to CNMI schools in the new year.
Schools interested in having an MTEC presentation or a MY WAVE or Marianas Youth Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically Club may contact MVA Community projects specialist Ryan Calvo at email@example.com or MVA community projects assistant Jennalyd Babauta at firstname.lastname@example.org or 664-3210 for more information.
MTEC wrapped up its 2016 presentation by bringing their tourism message to Sinapalo Elementary and the Rita V. Hocog Jr./Sr. High School in December.
The tourism education team was joined by Rota businessman Joaquin Atalig, owner of Coral Garden Motel and Kin & Rita Store, who was eager to share his tourism experiences with the students.
MTEC also shared about the unique tourism appeal and attractions of Rota, the types of visitors the NMI receives, the benefits of tourism, careers in the industry, and what students can do to support tourism at a young age.
Before presentations resume, MTEC will hold its annual MTEC Tourism Summit on Jan. 26, 2017, at Fiesta Resort & Spa, where MY WAVE Club members will explore aspects of the tourism industry more in-depth.
The summit is expected to gather nearly MY WAVE Club members to learn more about tourism, with special emphasis on discovering more about the special qualities that make their Marianas home attractive to visitors.
This year’s summit theme is “Discover My Marianas” and will feature TripAdvisor Head of Destination Marketing APAC Sarah Mathews and other speakers.
